5 Minutes To Go...
I've had a lot of fun today. In Elle's Garden, talking to ClayStarr, Le Cohabiteur, singing with the Fellas... Maybe that's why I didn't want to post anything about World AIDS Day, but with five minutes left in the day, and having read Intellifreak's post, I just had to. It reminded me of what I've lost.
I lost a wonderful man to the virus, Dannie. He was my first true partner. We were together for three years and very much in love. I have yet to meet a man who gave himself to me like he did. One who was willing to work through the rough spots as well as be around for the good times. Maybe its because he'd been married? He'd experienced true love and commitment before me, so he knew what the words I love you meant. Dannie lost his wife to the disease as well.
This thing is so preventable. Sure, we have to make compromises, do things differently, and sometimes do things in ways we'd rather not do them. Sex is so powerful. It will make you risk your life. People want to fuck the way they want to fuck so fucking bad they'd die doing it. Well guess what?
YOU CAN'T FUCK IF YOU'RE DEAD!
Sorry. I just got tired of beating around the bush [that goes out to all the DC nigmoes who think sex is a hobby!]
So if you haven't gotten yourself together, do it now. Start today. Find out your status, and for god's sake BE SAFE.
